If
you anticipate that you will be undergoing the treatment during your first
visit, then you must bring store bought specialty leg compression garments. If
the areas are only below the knee, then the garments must be knee high. If the
areas include the thigh, then the garments must be thigh high. The garments
must provide at least 20-30 mmHg compression. Truform and Jobst offer very nice
low profile garments in many different colors.
These specialty garments may be
found at your local medical supply store. The doctor will review and discuss
your medical history. This includes why you want the procedure and the desired
outcome; a detailed focused review of any current medical conditions, drug
allergies, family history, medications, alcohol, tobacco, and previous
procedures performed near the area to be treated.
Vein Centers - For
an additional cost, you will be offered a post procedure VitaMedica recovery
regimen to help decrease bruising and swelling and improve the healing process.
You will go home shortly after the procedure is complete. You are encouraged to
walk. You will remove any dressings and can start showering the next day. You
may feel some cramping in your legs for the first couple days. The discomfort
is usually temporary and does not require prescription medication.
